once the coffee beans are picked and the fruit has been removed the beans must be dried

Coffee production employs hundreds of thousands of Guatemalans. Most work in labor intensive tasks such as picking the coffee bean by hand or processing the coffee to make it ready for export.
The men below are drying the coffee in the sun. They walk back and forth, two pulling one pushing, turning the beans so that they dry evenly.
Producing top quality coffee, such as that grown in the highlands of Guatemala, demands great care, experience and a lot of work.
During the months of September through December you will often see workers drying coffee on concrete terraces though out the coffee producing areas of Guatemala.
