Hotel Isla Verde
Santa Cruz la Laguna
Guatemala
A new way of experiencing Lake Atitlan.
About Us:
...open air lounge, beautiful beach, wonderful hanging gardens, fantastic international cuisine with a modern twist and a breath taking view from each of our 8 cabins.
Hotel? ...well I guess you could call us that. We consider Isla Verde a garden of delights, a place to disconnect, to laze about and enjoy ...a place with no tv but plenty of books and games, with no air conditioning but a cosy fireplace, with no roads but gorgeous paths, ...a place to live without the slavery of time.
Facilities & Services:
The owner, Ana, traveled the world for over 12 years gathering ideas from 4 continents that have been gracefully melded into this gorgeous little paradise. Every little detail has been taken care of; the quaint little corners in the breath taking tropical gardens, the open air lounge packed with comfortable cotton cushions; the original nouvelle cuisine; the hanging plants in each one of the bathrooms, the view from your bed ...the perfect place to relax and bewitch the senses.
Rates:
- $45 wt private bath
- $30 wt shared bath
Of Special Note:
The hotel grounds start at the beach where you can swim, sun and relax to your heart's content. From there the hotel extends up the hillside providing each of its 8 private cabins a magnificent panoramic view of Lake Atitlan. The main asset of Isla Verde is our fresh chill out atmosphere. We also have a sauna, open air tub and a massage-meditation platform with a 360º view.
How to find us:
From Antigua or Guatemala city there are shuttles available from any travel agent that will take you to Panajachel (about 3 hours - $10), the main town near Lake Atitlan. Ask to be dropped off at the Tzanjuyu dock. There you can get a public "taxi boat" ($2) or a private boat ($12) to Santa Cruz (about15 minutes by boat) and have them take you directly to the Isla Verde dock, 400m past the Santa Cruz dock. Leave your bags there and we will have them brought to your room. If you need any further directions please e-mail us and we will be happy to help you.
