   Long the only village on the lake with any traveler amenities, "Pana", as it is known locally, has grown in to one of Central America's most popular destinations.

   From LARA's office in front of the ancient cathedral, transportation is available to and from anywhere in Guatemala and, in turn, any LARA hotels in Pana or other villages around the lake.

   Situated on a large lake-shore property is the ten room Santa Tomas Bella Vista Eco-lodge.

   In the heart of this relatively unknown, but beautiful Mayan town is the Hotel and Restaurant Toliman.

   Santiago Atitlan all but overwhelms visitors with its exotic color, and spectacular setting.

   A new hotel created with the idea that travel should be a positive asset to the local community and the environment.

   Two hotels in this tiny town are members of LARA. Vulcano Lodge is nestled up the valley among fruit trees and coffee plants. The Casa del Mundo hangs dramatically on the cliff face over the lake.
