About Us:
The Retreat sits on its own mountain overlooking Lake Atitlan, a five minute walk to the village center of San Marcos la Laguna.
A cloistered community offering accommodations of individual thatched stone villas, with private courtyards, creatively designed baths within nature, a main lodge with kitchen, fireplace, various thatched palapas for hammocks, resting, reading, writing.. or just doing nothing.
Facilities & Services:
Our accommodations are stone thatched villas built by our local Mayan indigenous community, each offering privacy, creativity, beauty, and solitude. Electricity has discreetly found its way into each villafor convenience of todays living. Private courtyards with hammocks, hanging flowering plants, comfortable soft lounges offer the ultimate comfort for our special guests.
Meals are included for our guests. Different services available upon request, tours to nearby villages, Spanish courses for private tutoring, therapies, and private individual silent retreats.
Rates:
- $225/night in a private cabin with breakfast (double occ.)
Of Special Note:
Your individual thatched casita offers a private bath created within the purist of nature. Pure cotton sheets down comforters candles soft lighting incense and an embracing bed net to surround you through the night. The Retreat is a smoke free destination.
How to find us:
From Antigua or Guatemala city there are shuttles available from any travel agent that will take you to Panajachel (about 3 hours - $10), the main town near Lake Atitlan. From there take a boat to Sam Marcos la Laguna and get off at the public dock.
